Kathmandu: The Birgunj-based Quality and Measurement Office of Parsa, which is under the jurisdiction of Madhesh Pradesh and Bagmati Pradesh, is currently being run by the Acting Chief.
After the then head of the office Shashi Bhushan Kumar Yadav got compulsory leave on November 8, the office has been operating on a regular basis till now.
Acting Chief Weighing Officer Sushil Kumar Yadav informed that he has been working as the Acting Chief since the Department of Quality and Measurement has not yet sent a Deputy Secretary.
Under the office, including the Quality and Measurement Office at Birgunj, is the office of the Tanker Calibration Unit at Makwanpur Hetauda in Bagmati Province. There are about 14 employees working in both the offices at present.
The office issues and renews licenses for weighing and measuring instruments required in various trades and occupations. The office is located in Narayani Zonal Office under the Department of Quality and Measurement of Savik.
